This is my photo of the day. I got a new purse camera a few days ago and have been playing around with it just to get a feel for it. I surprised myself with this distorted view of the big dog. I loved it right away and knew it was going to be today's photo. (I think I'm going to love this camera for carrying around.)
But I also wanted to share with you a snapshot of tonight's supper... Oh my goodness you should have tasted it. It was so delicious! I felt like I was at an expensive restaurant eating a $9.00 'bowl of soup and sandwich' combo.

I made the gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. The recipe for them is simple as well.
3oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 C. roasted red peppers, drained and chopped
8 basil leaves, chopped
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
4 slices provolone
8 slices good french bread
olive oil to brush on bread (you can use a good dipping oil if you like extra flavor)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Brush bottoms of 4 slices of bread with olive oil arrange oil side down on your baking sheet. In a small bowl, mix the first four ingredients; spread mixture evenly on the bread on baking sheet. Top each bread piece with a slice of provolone then the remaining 4 slices of bread. Brush tops of bread with oil. Bake 7 to 10 minutes or until cheese is melty and sandwiches are golden in color.

My favorite part of the day is when my DH comes home. I was outside shooting the photo for today when he pulled in. I snapped this shot and it is my absolute favorite of the day. You will not find a more handsome man, but I know I'm biased so... ...I included the photo of the day shots I was working on.
This block of ice encases all the toys the boy uses in his sandbox during the summer. The toys were in a Rubbermaid container that filled with water during the last rain of the fall season, then promptly froze solid.

See that blue and orange rectangular shape above the word "Photography"? That is the boy's bulldozer, and he spent the first 6 weeks of winter crying that he couldn't play with it! Here is a closer look at it.
I could hardly wait for the weather to get warm enough to dump out the ice block, but for a different reason. There had to be some really cool photos suspended in there. Frozen in time if you will...

I just love the abstract shapes in this one. It makes me think of fruity jello, only way cooler!

My young son just LOVES the picture I took a few weeks ago of the county maintainer plowing snow from the road outside our house. He made me print it and carries it around talking about the "big tractor". I just knew that I was going to have to take more tractor pictures for him. Imagine my happiness when driving on one of the gravel roads in my neighborhood I found the maintainer stopped at a stop sign. I pulled up next to him and explained how much my kiddo loves when he comes by and would he mind if I took another picture or two. He was so kind about it, and stayed put so I could grab this shot. the boy will have a new giant tractor for his collection. Love and big equipment.

I saw this shot at about 3:30 in the afternoon, but I had to wait until sunset for the lighting to be right. I am not sure it is one of my best, but waiting for sunset lighting was certainly the best choice in this composition.

The theme for this month is 'Power'. Think about that for a minute. How do you photograph power? This is going to be a fun challenge. I've been brainstorming 'power' ideas and I have several shots in mind. I hope I can pull them off. Today I bring you.... "Star Power" Love and *power

Tonight as I was about to dig in to the bruschetta, I was taken back by the great light of the sunset coming in the window behind me. I moved my plate 3 inches to the right and started snapping away.... and then, oh yum! Food and Love

I took a ton of pictures today... but none of them were what I would call photography. I was getting ready to settle for one of those shots when the moon caught my eye tonight.
Hey, it's a full moon! Moon pictures are a struggle for me. They take such long exposure times that a tripod is a must. Often, unless there are slow moving clouds or a completely clear atmosphere, the shots just 'meh'. I put the tree branches in tonight's shot as a reference point. (And) I wish I had a stronger tele-lens but all in all I feel okay with this one. Love and the Man in the Moon
