day 158

These pictures won't have much meaning if you aren't from around here, but the scene stopped me cold this morning when I drove by. Where this brush pile sits there used to be the county home for the elderly. It hasn't been used for better than 25 years now and it certainly was falling apart. But It was shocking to no longer see it on our rural landscape. It was a real lesson for me. Every time I drove by here I would think about how the dilapidated building had so much character and I really needed to photograph it. Now, I will never get the chance. Don't wait my friends, take that photo before the opportunity is gone.

day 157

We had a busy day today. Planting flowers on main street. I got to catch up with my best friend from kindergarten! It was great to see her again!!
And as I was taking reference photos of clouds, the heavens seemed to just smile down upon me.

day 155

This month's photo assignment is reflections... I shot a couple tonight just as a starting point. I like the idea of these compositions, but I would have liked to have the reflections a little crisper. I think maybe that would happen with cleaner water? I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for reflective surfaces.

day 154

Just a little public service announcement from me to you:
When washing your dog, it is important to keep the water temperature at a warm but not hot level. When the water is too hot... ...shrinkage may occur.

day 153

Playing around with the filters in my photo editing software. A friend and I gave a presentation about photography to a group of ladies at a local church.
...and we finally get to the photo of the day. The outside of the Church.
