I want to photograph Churches. Here are two local church buildings.
This is one of the traditional buildings... I love this one, because it looks like a house or maybe an old school building. It might be interesting to find out the history of some of the structures I'm taking shots of.

computer issues
I've been having problems with my computer. [A long story would be told here, but I'll shorten it... Cat knocks over water. Computer quits working. I freak out. Husband saves the day, (and all my photos!) The end.]
So, back to the business at hand. Day 29 photos
I am playing with shutter speed fun photos. I will be doing more of it, but yesterday I came up with "ghost boy" also from day 29... Story time.
These are from day 30... at the library, the boy found a little cubby he could climb in to read his book.
I shot LOTS of pics of the moon. I can't seem to ever get a good moon shot. I'm going to keep trying, but you get to see the best of the clunkers I shot tonight. This is just before the moon slipped behind the clouds.
That is the last two days in a nutshell. I'm very relieved that I still have a computer with all my photos intact. Thanks to my wonderful husband for that! I will be backing them up regularly from now on.

day 27
I've been working on Macro shots. I think I've posted an eye shot before. Now I'm working on giving the reflection in the eye some meaning. I want to put something in there that gives you a small secondary subject to look at. I'm getting closer to what I envision. This is the view looking out my front window.

day 25 cookie day
I felt like making some cookies today, so I searched for a new recipe. These are "Healthy Banana Cookies" My DD made these all on her own, she did a great job! They are super easy and here is the recipe...
3 ripe bananas
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup chopped dates
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl mash the bananas; then stir in oats, dates, oil and vanilla. Mix well and allow to sit for 15 minutes. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 20 minutes in a preheated oven or until golden brown. We didn't have dates, so we substituted raisins and mini chocolate chips. We all love them a lot. I can't wait to try them with dates next time.
Then I made our family favorite standard chocolate chip cookies. I will only use butter in these cookies. Can't you almost see the 1/2 pound of butter in them? (Paula Deen would be so proud!)

day 24
I thought it would be nice to reflect on Sunday. In our household that means going to Church as a family to worship. Then going to grandpa and grandma's house for dinner. Everyone has different traditions for how they spend their Sunday's and each tradition should be what is just right for you. You should have activities that feed the love and oneness that makes a family. I hope your traditions makes you as happy as ours does for us. Love and Peace

day 19 you get a two-fer of sorts
This evening, as we were saying grace at supper, I heard a noise.. when I looked up I saw the boy sneaking a nibble, before saying Amen. We finished our prayer but I just had to ask the family to pretend to say grace again so I could snap a shot this time. Of course when we all bowed our heads, he started sneaking some supper again. I was ready with my camera this time. My kids make me laugh. These are my picture of the day pictures. The young'uns were making funny faces on the camera phone. I asked them to keep it up while I snapped away. I got a couple good ones, the elder DD liked this one... This one is my favorite.

day 18
Today a dear friend of mine took me into the big city and we had a wonderful time talking, laughing, bonding, and eating. We ate our noon meal at the Cheesecake Factory, a place I'd never been before. The food was good, but the company was better!
This is her beautiful lunch, orange chicken. A good time was had by all.

day 15
Two totally different shots, so in no particular order, here they are. The kiddo, asked me to take this picture of her tiny pencil. She loves it and wanted me to share it with you tonight. I found this hawk on the drive home. He sat in the tree watching me until I got my lens changed, then he took off. This is the best I could get. I'll be watching for him again, and next time I'll be ready.

day 13
I was actually doing something completely different for today's shot. It involved the little army guys and candy again... it was really turning out, I was pretty happy with it. (you will see them soon) But, as in often the case around here, I was interrupted....
... by the big dog (who loves candy). He just would not leave me alone during the shoot. He just kept hanging around, looking pitiful. So I found a dog related candy and held it up to see if I could hold a prop with one hand and focus/shoot with the other. I envisioned a shot pretty close to this one.
But I kept on shooting as I often do, and this one came out a few minutes later. I like it a little better.

day 12 inspiration returns
I woke to a beautiful winter frost, so I went out with my macro lens to see what I could get. The vignette on this picture is from my macro lens rings.. I kinda like it, it reminds me of a Christmas card from the 70's.
I left these clothes pins on the line last fall just in case we would get an ice storm... but this morning's frosty cover looks nice too.
I don't know how great this shot is, but I love a barbed wire fence covered in something so opposite of the barbs.
I just had to show you this one, that is the full sun this morning when I was taking these shots. I came inside and not 10 minutes went by before the fog burned off and the day was beautiful with the sparkling snow and frost. I however could not go back out as the rest of the house was also awake and hopping by then.
I did this later in the day. I'm working on some shots depicting reflections. You get to preview some of my attempts. If you look close you can see my vehicle and dog in the window reflection... but if you are really good, you can also see my camera and hand reflected in the pupil. There will be more on reflections later in the year.
Thank goodness for pretty weather conditions
Love and frost

the 11th day
It really came down to the wire for me today. I just couldn't find any inspiration today. I took a few shots of various things, but nothing really grabbed me. But then...
Much love and boogers
I have to give my DH a big old Thank You for being such a good sport and helping me out when I was in need. Someday honey, if you need me to, I'll pick my nose for you.
Much love and boogers

day 10-- a Sunday
I think I said it last week, Sunday's are going to be hard to get the shot of the day in. Today was a busier than usual Sunday, so that didn't help much. I did carry my camera everywhere I went today, but didn't find any great compositions. I did however come across a couple of good photo opportunities.
Like this man (and his wife) shoveling snow off the roof of their building. I stepped out to take a couple pictures and he yelled down, "Kinda dumb huh?" I laughed and thanked him for the photo opportunity. I imagine a few cold hours on the roof is way better than replacing a collapsed roof.

If you are a parent, you will see what is going on here right away. Let me set it up for you anyway. DH and I are in the other room having a nice conversation. I even thought to myself, DS is very quiet but I didn't want to spoil the relaxing adult conversation I was having. (They are such a rarity for me.) After awhile, we walked into the kitchen to find this. He turned to me and said, "Look mommy, I'm Painting this juice."
So, I'm down one stick of butter, but it was all in the name of art, so I guess I can live with that. Maybe I should make some chocolate pudding so we can finger paint.

Day 9

When working with animals and children...
May I start out by telling you that I had a vision in mind for today's shot for the 365 project. Earlier in the afternoon, DH was playing a "Danny Boy" on his Tin Whistle which made our big dog howl right along. The shot was perfect... but not with my messy house in the background. So I asked DH if he would be willing to re-enact this for me after supper, and I had time to set up the backdrop. He was willing, but the dog (and kiddos) was no longer in the mood to cooperate.
Good gracious! Have you ever worked with kids? How about animals? I have learned that you can not snap shots of animals with kids in the room. Nor can you shoot kids with animals in the room. They just feed off each other. When this sort of thing happens, I usually keep on shooting because, in my opinion, these unplanned shots are better than their posed counterparts anyway.
