I need your help

Hi All,

Some of you may know that I've joined the local camera club. We meet monthly to discuss all sorts of great photography things. Each month we have a photography "assignment", we are to take photos during the month and bring our best shot to the next meeting. This month's assignment is back lighting. I have taken several shots and I'm asking your opinion... which one jumps out and grabs you. Which one do you find aesthetically pleasing? Please leave your vote in the comments section. Here are some of my shots in no particular order.

Let me know what you think....

I like the composition of number 3. Seems to capture a whole story and the lighting is fabulous. Also reminds me a bit of Greg's grandpa.

I like the second. The third is nice also, but I am a nature girl so the 2nd gets my vote!

I would like to vote for #3. I like the way my eye is drawn to the welder first. Obviously the main subject. But when I start to wander around the picture, there is a lot more to see. For the backlighting subject, I think its interesting that the welder is backlit by his work, but then the tractor is also backlit by the door. Very nice.

Thank you guys for your input! It really helps to hear others thoughts when choosing. Anyone else out there want to vote? You still have time. I won't be making any decisions until Thursday.

Sheila, I hope you will continue to share these! I've often thought of giving myself assignments like this. It's a great idea. I'm having a hard time choosing though!

My vote is for #3 also. I love the narrative feel of it and the quality of light. I think it best represents the assignment for the month.

I love #1 too, though. I love the shallow depth of fied and the sense of movement and the mystery of it. It's immediately recognizable, but I can imagine it being lots of other thing! And it's great how there is nothing behind the photo, but each little drop has an entire landspe inside.

Relly nice photos, all of them.

I'm torn between 1 and 2. 2 gives me a feeling of seren power, but I like the abstract quality of 1, and I swear I can see a person in the drops. Just to be contrary, I'm going with 1.

Thank you to everyone for your input. I decided to save #1 for a future meeting I think it will do well in the "springtime" assignment. Last night, I took in #3. I was so curious to see how it would hold up with a group of photographers. I got some good feedback with it. But there were so many people at this meeting and so many submissions that in the interest of time that we didn't vote on them. I'm hoping they will work out a better system and judging will resume next month. I've already offered up suggestions to solve the problem giving all a chance to vote during the social time. Again, thanks for your help.
