Accident on day 38

We were driving to Church this morning with a fresh layer of new snow on the ground and more falling. There is a rather steep hill with a deep ravine at the bottom. I started to fishtail at the top of the hill and could just barely keep in under control until the car's momentum and gravity took over. Then I knew I wasn't going to keep it out of the ditch. I was hoping to make it to the bottom of the hill, we went over the embankment just at the bottom and then rolled over and landed on our top in the creek. It was the scariest drive/ride I've ever had in my life! This was the first accident I've ever been in where I was driving. I don't mind telling you that I was pretty shaken up. The whole family climbed out of it fine. I have a stiff neck, my husband has a bloody knuckle, and there were two broken fingernails but those are the only injuries we can account for.
We are really praising God for keeping us safe during this wild ride this morning. So many factors might have made this "accident" a "tragedy", but thankfully they didn't. I know I am hugging my kiddos and husband a little tighter and cherishing them a little more.
Love and Thank You Lord!

Thanks Jessy and GD. We are so thankful to be okay. It really could have been so much worse.
Today, when the kids bicker and fight, I just hug them and tell them I love them and am glad they are here. They look at me a little funny, but I'm just filled with appreciation for life. I'm pretty sure the car is totaled, but we are waiting to hear the official word from our insurance adjuster.
